About Kalaloch Lodge
A Sanctuary Between Tides and Trees in Olympic National Park
At Kalaloch Lodge, time moves differently. Waves roll in, eagles soar overhead, and the salty air carries the scent of the sea and forest combined. Whether you’re cozying up by the fire or exploring the nearby beaches, it’s the kind of place that reminds you what it means to truly get away.
Perched on a bluff where Kalaloch Creek meets the driftwood-lined shores of the Pacific Ocean, Kalaloch Lodge is the only coastal lodging within Olympic National Park. Since 2012, the property has been proudly operated by Delaware North, with a deep commitment to preserving the natural beauty of the Olympic Peninsula through sustainable initiatives like the GreenPath® environmental stewardship program.
Today, Kalaloch Lodge welcomes guests to experience the rugged beauty of the Washington coast with a variety of accommodations—from charming rooms in the historic Main Lodge to cozy, stand-alone cabins and hotel-style rooms in nearby Seacrest House. Guests can also enjoy fresh, locally inspired dining at Creekside Restaurant or stock up on essentials and souvenirs at Kalaloch Mercantile.
The lodge’s history stretches back to the 1920s, when Charles W. Becker Sr. purchased a 40-acre plot and built the original cabins using driftwood washed ashore by the sea. The Main Lodge followed in 1953, and the National Park Service later purchased the property in 1978 to ensure its protection for generations to come.
While Kalaloch has evolved over the years, its spirit remains unchanged—a place where untamed wilderness, ocean air, and timeless tranquility come together to remind us just how special this corner of the world truly is.
