Lake Crescent

Need some extra wind in your sails? Visit this picture-perfect lake.

If you truly want to get away, Lake Crescent is the place. And it's less than an hour and a half away from Kalaloch on Highway 101 North. It's practically surrounded by the Olympic Mountains, making this glacier-carved lake a truly secluded location. Kayaking, sailing and relaxing on the beach are popular activities here, as are hiking and picnicking. Spruce Road Trail, along the lake's north shore is popular, as is Marymere Falls, which you can get to via Barnes Creek Trail. If you're looking for the perfect place to have a picnic, Fairholme, Boyee's Meadow, La Poel, and the north shore all have picnic tables. No boat? No problem. You can even rent a rowboat from Lake Crescent Lodge.
